The best fish and chips in town! So crispy and fresh! I've tried many spots in SD, but this one is by far the best I've had!
1st I was impressed by how accommodating the woman taking my order was. She assured me 1 meal of fish and chips was generous enough for two young ones to share. Coffee milks shakes are rare to find at food places and I was elated to order and enjoy mine. Next time I'll ask for a double shot of coffee. Next time I'll be going to Janna's Burgers 2nd location at Park Way Mall opening in two weeks. Turns out the cheerful woman who took my order was Janna, the owner!!! She works hard & loves what feeding people delicious food! Thank you for a wonderful experience. Oh we were in a bit of a rush to catch a plane and she had everything ready so quick!!
Our work crew decided to place a large order last night about an hour from closing. We had been talking about this place all night but when "stuff" hits the fan, it kept getting pushed back and we were worried about this business being able to accommodate such a large order so close to closing. Well not only did they accommodate our large late order, but man did they deliver on the DELICIOUSNESS!! Everything tasted fresh, not so greasy or oily like a competition business with similar food that we had ordered from before. And when I mean fresh, their chili cheese fries had freshly chopped onions on top. It was great! Everyone that got the fish was RAVING on the perfect batter and crispness, everyone loved their burgers. I got the double Cali burger and chili cheese fries along with the coconut milk shake to share with my hubby. Can I just say it was the best milkshake I've ever had in awhile? My hubby was like 'you should've ordered 2!" But from my last experience at the competition's I was being reserved just in case. Our food was super good! One thing they don't skimp on is the ingredients. You get a good amount of food, a little on the pricey side, but worth it. Make sure you sign up for the rewards program they have! What I also appreciate is the owner called me to give me an update on the progress of our order. She was very sweet and thankful for ordering through them. We didn't take pixes because we all demolished our food so fast, but this is our new go to spot whenever we're having the burger cravings! Thanks again Janna's!!
Food was hot and Delicious! My family will for sure be having Janna's again! Salt and Pepper Chicken, Burgers and French Fries that really taste good after delivery.
We got the razzle dazzle and the Swiss mushroom burger along with the zucchini fries! Everything was delicious! The burgers hit the spot for a quick meal while we were visiting family in the SDSU area! The zucchini fries were amazing! I'm glad we got them! The location has minimal have a sit down area which we were aware of, we ordered ahead of time and pick up was quick at the window. We were on our way to the hotel, so I think this spot would be great for quick food on the go in the way back to your destination!
The burgers here are PERFECT! So juicy and delicious, and those brioche buns are like a cherry on top The owner is simply the sweetest and the food is so quick! Highly recommend this place
I noticed this place had great reviews and the owners cared about the customer experience. They responded to one frustrated customer and invited them back for an improved experience. I ordered pick up and the double bacon cheese burger began great. Half way through the bottom bun began to disintegrate. So did my perfect rating. I enjoyed the burger thoroughly, it really scratched the craving itch. Then it was a bunpacollapse.. That is two bad puns in one. This issue was all the "toppings" are on the bottom bun so it fell apart. I don't love finishing with a fork and knife takes away the ambiance. The flavors were great and the fries crisp which many deliveries get wrong. The fish very nicely fried and not greasy. This showed a real talent for deep frying . Loved it all from top bun until just above the bottom bun. I will return because it is great stuff.
THE FOOD IS AMAZING! and I have only ordered through delivery app services yet it still comes Sooooo fresh and good. The batter they fry their fish and onion rings in is to die for. The food is literally still just as good the next day. Just after one bite you can tell this place is big on quality. We've tried the bbq burger, Cali burger, shroom burger regular cheese burger, fish burger, fries, onion rings, fish combos and the chocolate shake. All of which were so gooood! The biggest thing that sticks out about this place is the better and fact that the food quality is so consistent. It is crazy that the food doesn't get soggy even if you eat it the next day. I'm obsessed!
Form the owner of BFF Burgers, Fish, and Fries in La Mesa at Grossmont Center comes Janna's Burgers, Fish and Fries at the Aztec Food Hub on El Cajon Blvd. If you are a fan, Janna is bringing her famous burgers to the hub but with a new gourmet inspired look and taste. That being said, I had her famous combo which came with cheese burger which I updated to a bacon cheese burger, garlic parmesan fries, and one generous portion of fried cod, not to mention a beverage. It's a lot of food, but a delicious amount of food too. The burger was delicious. The quality beef patty was well seasoned and juicy. Janna's secret sauce is outstanding and brings the burger together very well. All the ingredients, the chopped lettuce, sliced ripe tomatoes, the sliced white onions were fresh. The burger also comes with quality pickles and a toasted warm and tasty brioche bun. I definitely loved the burger. Both the garlic fries and fried fish were great. The fries were crinkle fries, which I love, and came with a buttery garlic concoction that was no doubt finger liking good. You can also opt for regular fries. The fried fish was very well prepared. The batter is a house recipe that not only offers great texture via its crispiness but also added flavor as it is well seasoned as well. The fish inside was succulent, flaky, and flavorful. If you like fried fish, check out Janna's fish and chips plate. This place is great and rumors are about that more good things are coming to the menu. Just a note, although there a few wall seats available outside the hub, this location mostly runs as a "to go" or by local delivery establishments. You can order online or at the kiosk at the hub. The people at the front window are friendly.
